So I've been lucky and come into £3000 which I can use to buy a bike.
Just for info sake on my riding style I'm currently on a 2016 genius lt plus which I run as a 29er for enduro racing and I race my saracen myst team in DH. I'm not that fast and it's for fun not winnng for me.
The genius is a medium frame and I've always felt it was to short.
So...
Help me decide and I'm looking between about 2500 and 3100:
2nd hand, very well spec bird aeris 145 at the lower end of my budget (ml frame, factory 36, xt group, rsc brakes an lots of other nice stuff).

New bird aeris 145lt spec to sit around 3000 but won't be quite as good as the above
New bird am9 soec around 3000 as above
Torque al 7.0 @2700
Caora Al comp @2700
Cotic rocket silver build with a few add ons to 3100

What do you think? Should I save some cash and go 2nd hand? Is the torque too much for general riding? Thoughts on mrp ribbon fork as I could spec the aeris 145 with the 170 version? Thoughts on x fusion hlr as I would spec the rocket with it.
Help.
It's too hard to decide!

Oh and I'm about 90kg but fit and like the longer travel bikes. I've gone for bikes with low seat tubes and long reach as I had a large 2016 capra al briefly and it just didn't feel right height wise. I ended up with a 125mm dropper on it. Liked the reach though.

Ouh...I like the numbers on Bird Bikes. Ticks on the right places for UK weather.
Go for the AM9.

I like the bird geometry as well. One option is to take the 29er wheels off the genius and build an am9 from the frame set. Not sure if I could keep it in budget and spec it how I like it. Maybe if I made a few compromises on finishing kit for now.

I toyed around with the AM9 configuration.
3543 is the closest.

M-L frame. Super Deluxe RC3. Pike Fork. Guide R brakes. 200/180mm rotors. X01 Eagle. OneUp chainguide. DTSwiss E1900 wheels. Minion/Aggressor 2.5. Bike Yoke 160mm dropper. Fabric Radius Elite Saddle.

-With MRP Ribbon. No chainguide. 3616.
Additional Hope Enduro Tech Wheels. 3777

Gx eagle would do me and keeps the price down a bit. If I could settle for yari over lyrik or pike as well that'd save.

I’d get a Yari and just toss in some upgrades later. My buddies Yari is so close to my lyrik I really can’t tell a difference. I’d pony up more money on the rear shock.

id get a Lyrik with mrp ramp control, vorsprung luftkappe,high/low compression mod,so it's nothing like a Lyrik

I’m hovering over the buy button on a 145lt with xt all around and the mrp ribbon 170mm fork. A bit hesitant to go against the fox and rockshox norm but I only hear good things about the ribbon
