Hi folks!

So after years off the bike, I've decided it's about time I pull it out of the shed and give it some TLC, with an aim to get back in the saddle early next year!

The bike is a Giant Reign 1 2005, Rock shox Pike 426, Fox RP32 (I think!?), Hope M4 brakes. Although the frame is old, I picked it up second hand in really good condition, and never did a lot of riding on it, so it still seems in very good condition.

I'm looking at doing a few upgrades - one of which being a longer travel fork. I love the Pike at 140mm but I've heard good things about running a 160mm fork on the Reign. If anyone has any experience with this let me know! Any recommendations on forks would be appreciated too!

Thanks!

I would service the suspension then ride it as is.
If the fork is crap, new 160mm forks all have tapered steerers, so you'd have to find a clean used Fox36 or similar.
