So I'm building a new DJ bike. I bought a Magura MT5 so that I have better power modulation with braking. I also got the shimano 203mm rotor. The frame is a 2013 Specialized P26AM and it has integrated IS mounts that fit 140mm rotor with a 0mm offset post top adapter. I've made some modifications and welded the frame in order to accommodate the 203mm in the rear fork. Any ideas what I might try to get the rotor adapter lined up?

I know many will say that I'm wasting my time and that 180mm is enough, but I've spent a considerable amount of time making this work, so id like to see it through. Not every day you see a DJ bike with 203mm rear DH hydro brakes Smile

Correct and there’s a reason.....it’s not needed.

140-160 is all you’ll ever need.

Project sounds.....fun...? Or maybe just add a front brake, you know, the one that contains 70% of your braking power?

I dunno man, I take all the brakes OFF my dirt jump bikes, so what do i know lol

Honestly, your best bet is a custom adapter plate. A flat IS tab adapter can be CNC’d, water-jetted, or even drilled by hand if you’re careful with hole spacing. Once you get that dialed, the Magura MT5 + 203 mm rotor is going to stop that P26AM on a dime.
