Any thoughts on experiences riding the 2018 trek fuel ex 9.8?

Have an opportunity to buy a new 2018 but don’t know anyone personally with Trek mtb experience. Looking for one all around bike that climbs well. Still like to have fun on descents but at 57, not riding that aggressively anymore.

The Fuel Ex, Remedy and Slash all climb rather well with approx 5% of each other pedal wise.

Pic which one you want to have fun on on the descents.

I own a trek fuel EX 9.8 and and let me tell you with all honesty, you will not go wrong.
The only thing i recommend is to change the fork travel to 140 so you'll have more control on descents
