Have you ever ridden in Alberta? Outside of Jasper, Bragg Creek/Moose, Canmore/Kanannaskis, and YEG/YYC can you name another riding area with tons of trails? Well we kept hearing about how great this area call "Baseline" is for last several years and finally went down to check it out. Boy was it an adventure!
Baseline mountain in the central Alberta area of Rocky Mountain House and maintained by the volunteers at the local club. They have spent countless hours grooming these trails and you can tell. According to some who has ridden far and abroad, it's got some of the best DH trail there is to offer. If you've not gone, do yourself a favor and go check it out.
For our first time out, we rode on some of the signature trails like Yoga Pants, Canada Cup, and D Rock. Full disclaimer: I have not ridden many black trails before, and this was really my first real downhill experience. I did fine though and had toooooons of fun. There are more advanced trails that this rider has not ventured on yet ???? perhaps next year!

Baseline is a great time! We rode with the club members there earlier this year. They're all legends.

also nordegg, Crowsness pass...... Alberta is under rated. I no longer complain about where i live but embrace it. The fact that you can go to after work rides at most these places is amazing.
