if you take off the part witch is ion the top, with the screws. then you can run one if you are running a 36t get a 38t bash ring... it worked for me

i made some spacers out of some washers and put them between my chainring and bashguard, so then the boxguide fits perfectly over the chain

it does work fine, ive done it but yea do buy the size bigger, then take off the side part of the box guide, i think its held on with like three or four screws. the bash guard will end up making sure the chain does not fall off the one side, and the half box guide will protect the other side, it works really well if set up right, i did it two years ago and only dropped one chain
