GT not honoring warranty!

My frame cracked at the seat post welds near the triple triangle on my GT Backwoods Made in USA that I bought new. The post was well under the recommended line under the post clamp.
I was told when I bought the bike, that anything short of running it over with a truck would be covered by GT. Wrong. After having the bike shop inspect the damage, and reach out to them with pics, they denied the warranty.

Has anybody had a similar experience?
