I'm in the EWS80.. According to the stage maps, less than 800ft gain for EWS80 and for the EWS, only 1610ft climb? Can anyone confirm? I thought the EWS would have at least a 5000Ft gain on the transitions and EWS80 (CA Enduro) a usual 3000-4000ft.

I volunteered for the event in 2019. There was very little climbing. Most of the stages where lift accessed. They also give you plenty of time for stage transitions.
