I remember being at a race in mount snow where a racer dislocated both shoulders in a crash. He was flopping around like a fish because he could not get up and was in a lot of pain. For me it was a concussion which kept me out of biking for a few weeks.

Broken leg(tibia), on the shore, or when I was racing I cut a huge gash down to the bone and filled my forearm with gravel, rocks and dust. Doctor couldnt clean it all out, so it got hugely infected, IV treatment for the rest of the summer (needles twice a day every day).

uhh i shattered my ankle, wreked my tail bone, gashed to the bone, i shifted my shoulder, and did a bunch of other stuff with my fingers and joints. the worst was probably the ankle. o ya i also got appendisitious or however you spell it but that wasnt from biking, i just couldnt for my DH trip on my birthday and for basicly the rest of summer break last year. i got my dh in only once last year. ya back on topic: the worst was probably the ankle/ gash to bone jump...

worst i did was dislocate my right shoulder and hyper extend my left elbow, same crash. Right arm was limp till it was back in. No permanent damage but left elbow still makes popping noise when extended.

August 2008: head-landing in Winterberg: craniocerebral injury (traumatic brain injury), a rescue helicopter took me into special hospital for heads, one week coma, the week after I woke up exessive sleep (20 hours a day), amnesia (didn´t know what happened, which day, where I´m, why I´m there, who took me there,...), two weeks intensive care, two weeks normal care, two cerebral hemorrhages, for two months I saw everything twice, so that I had to wear special glasses, two weeks barking, so that the doctors had to give me before every meal a syringe with special medicine, as I was barking and sleeping all the time and because of I saw everything twice (two cerebral hemorrhages)all the time, the prof of the hospital had to operate my head: http://fotos.mtb-news.de/p/326669! After the operation another four days on intensive care and one week on normal station. For half a year no alcohol, no parties, no sport, no loud music and the worst: one year no extreme sports!!! So for one yearI wasn´t allowed to go biking...

Luckily I was wearing a helmet. Over cooked a flip in August last year and fractured my skull. If I had not been wearing my lid I would have been dead. Literally. You may think it's fun or nice to not wear a lid, but take it from me... head injuries are not worth it. Please be smart. Neuro surgery is not something you can easily recover from.

Over cooked a large double and faceplanted 8ft past the landing ramp. Helmet broke my nose and a vertebra in my neck. Still managed the 2 mile ride out to be picked up.

Broken ribs and a concussion from slamming mega hard after a drop! I had to finish riding the long trail back to my car and it was totally hellish. Luckily it wasnt more brutal that that because I ride solo since i dont have anyone to ride with. I just healed recently so im pretty stoked.
