Just made my self a homemade shock protector:P Used a 1,5l plastic bottle and two screws with nuts on. Cut out some peaces of the bottle and woalla!! Haven't got any chance to test it in the mud jet since its only ice and a little snow outside
but guess its going to be a lot of mud when the ice snow melts:S

That's a great idea, it looks really good too.

Doesn't have that much mud clearance, IDK if that's an issue for you at all though.

The only thing I'd would do would be just file down any rough edges just in case.

Ill take pics on the next mud ride, it keeps crap out perfectly. Mud on the seat tube, mud on the chainstay, but nothing on the shock!

How am I a punk? Smile I even wrote a PB thread on how to make that, for CHEAP. Anyone could do it. I do real structural stuff too, but the thread I did was just so you could make fenders and such!


I completely respect the bottle idea, but figured it was worth posting. Im not trying to say "oh, his sucks" or anything. I love his ingenuity.

How the hell is that cocky? Sure the bottle was a neat idea, but it's really nothing special. However, Hummeroids design is sweet, and he has a thread showing how to make it. Not cocky, pretty down to earth. o__O
