For Shimano, this xt 11 speed cassette requires a spacer if on an 11 speed freehub?

https://www.jensonusa.com/Shimano-XT-CS-M8000-11-Speed-Cassette

SPECIFICATIONS
Model Number: CS-M8000
11-Speed Shimano Dyna-Sys compatible
Fits on 8,9,10, or 11 speed freehub bodies (Freehub Spacer required for 11-speed freehubs)

So.....

This means the 11 speed is narrower than the 8-10 cassettes?

With my 11 speed freehub, what size spacer will I need for this cassette? 1 or 2mm?

I'm officially confused why an 11 speed cassette needs a spacer if running on an 11 speed freehub. Ugh

No MTB cassette requires a spacer, except on 11 speed road freehubs.

Ok. So that is referencing spacer if road hub.

Got it.
Thank you
