27.5 on a Salsa Bucksaw worth it as second wheel set?

I have a stock 2017 Salsa Bucksaw, running 26" x 4.0" wheels now. I've been getting into more technical riding, jumps, drops, sharper turns. I was wondering if getting another wheel setup with 27.5 x 2.8, or something similar would be worth it?
From what I've read, it sounds like it would be a little lighter and easier to throw the bike around.

Just looking for opinions, and actual sets if anyone has done this.

Yes, I am running 27.5x3 WTB Bridgers on 40mm WTB Scraper rims and love the combo and added bb height on rocky terrain. However, I just got a set of carbon wheels measuring 53mm internal and will run reverse mullet 27.5x4 fat front and 26x4 rear on a Whisky carbon rim out back for winter.

For summer, I am getting a 29 front wheel built up with a carbon 40mm rim and will run a 29x3 Minion DHR 2, with the 27.5x3 Bridger out back. Problem is my Bluto RCT3 is not giving up enough room so I may buy a Manitou Mastodon Pro EXT to replace it.

I've been thinking about getting another set of wheels for summer riding on my fat bike too, do you need to get custom wheels built with wider hubs and skinnier rims? or do these types of wheels exist for sale on the internet?

@alexscheuer: Do you have a Buscksaw as welll? If so, you just need to find wheels with 15x150 TA front and 12x177 TA rear. Some hubs may come in 170 QR and have adapters to convert to 177.

There are some in the Buy & Sell forum with that hub spacing but most rear fat hubs are now 12x197 these days Frown

No I don't own a bucksaw(really nice bike though), I have a Giant Yukon with 15x150 and 12x197 hubs, I ride it in the summer when my wife comes along for a ride and she borrows my Giant Trance. I don't hate the fat bike in dry trails but i wonder how much faster i could be on 3'' tires.

The 27.5's with the FBN's is what gets used most often because they are a hoot. Not great in snow- that's what the 26" are for, and not as fast as the 29", but fun all around.

You running 27.5x3.8 in the back? How is the snow and mud clearance? I am running 29x3 & 27.5x3 summer and 27.5x4.8 & 26x4 for winter using a Mastodon fork. I'm not sure if there's enough clearance for mud and pebbles out back for 27.5x4... esp. if I run studded...

Width-wise it's fine, but it gets pretty tight diameter-wise. It's pretty much overkill for me given the other choices I have.
