I recently made the huge mistake of misplacing my front axle for my 2010 Marzocchi Bomber 55 TST2 fork. I called a few repair shops and they told me my only chance is amazon or ebay. Scouring the internet I only find dead links and no availability for the original part So my question is, could I get a 20x110mm Fox 40 axle with the same thread pitch (1.5) and have it (sorta) work? I absolutely cannot find a correct axle for this fork to save my life.
Snagging something similar is not going to work, the interfaces on these axles are pretty specific.
I road quite a few of the old Marzocchi forks from this era when I was a kid and all of them had cross compatible axles, but they were also non-QR 20mm. In the same vein of compatibility, I'm fairly confident that any axle from the same gen 66 will also fit your fork and there might be more (later model 888 axle was compatible with the later 66, for instance), but I don't want to lead you down the wrong path there.
Try broadening your search with the 66. If that doesn't work and you're truly intent on keeping this fork I'd just look for the most clapped out/inexpensive 55 or 66 you can find on the classifieds or eBay to steal the axle from!
