Hey!
I have the 2020 Giant Trance 2. Basically wanting to have two sets of rims, wheels, cassette and brake rotors. One with XC tires, and another with Trail tires. Basically will be interchanging them based on what riding I'll be doing.

The stock ones: HighRoller 2s. Shimano hubs.
The potential new one. RaceFace Arc w/ Sram XD freehubs...

You may have spotted the potential issue! The cassette I'll have to buy for the Sram XD freehubs... will they be compatible with the Shimano SLX rear derailleur? Or are there any issues that I don't even know about?

You can mix and match most cassettes and derailleurs if they are for the same size cassette. So you will need one SRAM and one Shimano cassette.

Shifters and derailleurs are what need to match 95% of the time due to different pull ratios.

You might have to do a little tension adjustment when swapping the wheels, but other than that it should be fine

great! thanks "dad"! haha. I just have to find a decent priced XD compatible cassette now that won't break the bank.

Check out sunrace. They are heavier but work well for the price. I assume this is an 11 speed?

12 speed actually. Having a heck of a time finding one with that XD compatibility under 200 bucks.

Well GX eagle can be had and there are some sunraces too, just watch out cause one of the sunraces explicitly says not compatible with Shimano derailleurs
