Okay, lately ive been trying to 180 off some smaller stuff, curbs, 1-2 foot ledges. I can 180 out of a bowl and anything with lip. When I try and 180 off a curb or ledge I spin and land in the 90 position. I try and keep looking at where I want to go but it's not helping? Anyone have any suggestion's?

Also I ride a Kona stuff which is fairly heavy, but ive taken off the front de-railer and soon to have single speed this up coming week which should lighten it up for a more suitable street ride.

just try to spin harder. Or try to do a x-up at the same time(makes you spin faster).

i have a heavy bike as well and im a little guy but all it takes is timing and the speed you get. i always got 90's until i went a lil faster and i was pulling 180's. i find it easier if you do it off jumps before you try it off curbs . but what ever you wanna try. go for it

Should I lean into the spin before I hop, or hop then try to spin while in the air?

carve the direction your spinning, if you watch pro's spin drops, there are at 90 right off the drop and sometimes before they even begin the drop
