I do quite a bit of road biking and looking to try mountain biking. Will certainly love it. Looking to buy a bike priced around $600 or so. Do you think that’s a little low ? Need suggestions on bikes. Will mostly be doing easy-medium trails.

You are on a Rocky Mountain thread, so $600 won’t get you much. Look for a used hard tail with 1X11 drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. A good full suspension bike will probably be over $2k.
