Heart rate monitors

What heart rate monitors are you all using and which one do you recommend? The heart rate sensor on my Garmin Forerunner 935 is not cutting it. I’m thinking a chest strap style would be the most accurate.

I've used the hard Garmin chest strap for 6 or 7 years now on every bike and run without any issues. Previously I had the soft strap and that lost connection a bunch.
