Hi, I’m very new to mtb and I decided to purchase my friends, fathers bike for a really really good price. It’s a 2019 trek 9.7 L and I felt a tad stretched out on it but figured I could get a shorter stem and 100mm dropper. If it happens I do fit much better on the bike should I invest in some nicer parts as I beat it up? Or should I look into trading/selling it instead?

NOTE: 5’8”-5’9” w/32” inseam to ankle and 34” to floor.

All inputs are welcome!

Personal preference. if it feels "too big: you will ride it as so. Personally I really don't like bikes that feel big or just are big. I'm between Medium and Large and I will pretty much pick the Medium most of the time

from everything I find I’m right the cuff of medium and large as well... I guess I’ll ride it for a bit and if I don’t like it I’ll sell/trade..
