Is it possible to convert a mixed wheel or mullet bike from a 29 in the front to a 27.5 (with 27.5 fork) to turn it into a regular 27.5 bike. Would love to not have to pick up a new rim and re lace. Thanks

If it's a 160mm 29 grok and wheel a 180mm 27.5 fork and wheel should be pretty close.

Typically it's 10mm fork swap to make up for the 0.75" height difference between 27.5 and 29. I would go with 170mm if you're currently at 160mm.

reverse components have a 10mm fork race if you don't want to pay out for a new fork

I believe the height difference AC when you go from 29 to 27.5 is 20mm in fork length and 20mm wheel/axle height. So you'd need 40mm more travel for the geo to remain unchanged.

Would that be if you're using the same 29er fork with a 27.5 wheel or a 27.5 fork and wheel?

I was looking at swapping out my bike frame next year or the following year and some options are only in mullet. Not sure if I'm sold on the mullet for my kind of riding.

Old thread but will play.

I converted my 23 yt capra from a mullet to a full 27.5. Got a smoking deal on a set of carbon wheels so why not. To compensate the difference in geo I added 10mm of front travel. My original high setting is now my low setting so it's not much different. I can still toss the 29 front wheel back on and go extra slack if I want. I just like the feel of 27.5 wheels better. Although I can tell a difference when riding down fast rough trails.
