Hello guys.

How does the DUROLUX 36 RC2-PCS compare to Rockshox , DVO and other manufacturers offering.

There seem to be a increased number of Pro rider and bikes out there that run SR Suntour suspension.

This thread can apply to the Durolux 38 vs Zeb, when Suntour will start selling them.

I'm planing to build a new bike and was thinking of what fork to put on it.

I will let you know when mine eventually arrives. Fox and RS are over rated. I was also interested in the Mezzer.

I don't have 20221 of each fork but do have all three. The fox has needed warranty service twice. It definitely rides well and is very tunable to how you want it to ride. I don't trust it to last after my experience but since their last warranty service where they replaced the lowers, it seems to be going strong.

The lyric is more plush imo but I don't find it to be as tunable. The knobs seem to have less useful range and you are looking for the spot that feels good for you and the other setting s just feel worse.

The durolux is stiffer than the other two, it is more plush and the tunability is somewhere between the other two. It makes a fairly loud sucking sound when reexpanding, not sure if they solved this on future models. I just ignore any sounds and ride it because it is a lovely fork. Of the three, it's the one I feel like I can just run it through anything and it will smooth it all out. It is very confidence inspiring. It is the easiest to service yourself as well.

In the end all three are good forks. If I was paying full msrp, I'd go for the durolux as it is a much better value. If the other forks were on sale ND ended up the same price as the durolux, it would be a hard choice. The fox has been unreliable (maybe I just got a lemon?), the rock shox is ok but doesn't blow my mind. I prefer the ride on the durolux but the version I have with the load sucking sounds doesn't make you feel like you got as refined a product. If you ignore that, it is a better fork than the rs and at least as good as the fox I have.

Having ridden a Lyrik (not the most recent version), Durolux RC2, DVO Diamond, and Zeb Ultimate I would say the are all excellent choices.

The Durolux beats all but the Zeb in the stiffness department but not far behind the Zeb. The Durolux's price is very attractive for what you get so I think it gets the edge for value. Another fork to consider would the the Manitou Mezzer Pro which I really liked.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any of them. If I was choosing from my list above it would go:

Mezzer Pro - Durolux EQ (value is great) - Lyrik or Zeb depending on how big a bike i was putting it on - DVO Diamond.

Glad to hear your experience with 3 different forks. I have a lyrik 2021 on my HT and i can agree on the settings thing... . also there seems to be a issue with CSU's on both RS and FOX, my RS started doing CSU creeks in less then 6 months of use, basically from a lot of Endo's and jumps.

I think i might actually be sold on a DUROLUX, especially the 38 when they release it. Its heavy but who cares about weight anyways !!

Glad to hear that, will look at your videos now !
If the DUROLUX 36 is not far behind the ZEB... then im scared to hear how the DUROLUX 38 will be compared to the 38 and ZEB. Its 2.5 kg fork !

Durolux 36 I felt had great stiffness. It is on the heavy side but that plays into the stiffness. I understand the 38mm stanchions have their place but I'd focus on what travel, bike, and how hard you ride when picking a fork. The bigger forks are heavier. The Mezzer with 37mm stanchions @ 180mm was 2050g which is crazy light considering.

Yeah the weight is not really a concern for me because i've been riding all the time a close to 16kg Hardtail . The bike that will get a Durolux will be a Propain Spindrift.
