Incorrect, a manual is just a wheelie with pedaling. So if you sit it’s still a manual, and arguably harder to do. And I had a stroke reading that.

A manual is the art of balancing on your back wheel, therefore there can be no input from the cranks, any b-cranks will be met with punishment. You may use a brake, but you may not crank.
A wheelie is for kids and beginners and looks horrible, but will help you move from normal bike riding to freestyle bike riding and is therefore acceptable. And yes, even Wyn Masters looks horrible doing wheelies.
If you want to see some proper manual technique look up Devon Smilie, Courage Adams, Bruno Hoffman etc.
