Hello there, i wanted to have a deeper insight in whats going on with the bike shortage due the world shipping problems.

For an example
Trek Boone available 31 january 2023
Trek slash available sept-october 2022
Canyon Torque is now available with all the fresh parts?

is it worth to order a bike and wait till then?

what happen with the 2023 modells? are they earlier available?

Smile it depends entirely on if a bike is in stock. Some have had luck and had their bikes delivered in a week or 2. others have to wait months.

You may have a better chance if you buy from a 3rd party retailer who keep bikes in their warehouses and not ordered directly from the manufacturer. (Obviously this excludes bikes that are direct to consumer)

They should have 2023 models available as soon as they are listed for purchase. But of course demand will probably be high and you may not get one in time.

It's the same for components, If the retailer keeps their own stock then you have a chance of getting stuff.
Big manufacturers like shimano and sram have various wait times up until 2022 (maybe longer).

Also models usually come out a year early. You typically see e.g 2021 models back in 2020 in time for xmas and new year. It's almost never at the very start of end of a year. 2022 bikes have been available for a while

Beer Good luck
