Hello, Thinking about the hugene as my new bike, ridden the ibis ripley/ripmo recently and while they're great I do not like their aesthetics. Can anyone give me some comparisons to these bikes or at least their experience using the propain hugene..... Pro's/Con's? I'm looking for a similar bike to the ibis bikes where they pedal well, and go down just as well. Lastly, which spec do you guys recommend? I'm in between the "start"(lowest) and "performance"(middle) specs, I live in norcal where most things are long fire road climbs up with singletrack or flow descents, with some tech both ways. I know theres reviews online but I want to hear from the actual customers/riders. Thanks!

Might be too late for you but I just saw this and if your interested..... I have about 150 miles on my Hugene as of now and I really like it (coming off of a Transition Smuggler) Really good climber, pretty light, feels incredibly solid. Suspension is pretty firm and is not a super plush bike, but that's what makes it fast and fun. (I hate to overuse the words "Poppy" and "playful".) I like it with the 150 fork much better than the 140, but that's mostly due to mu hugely long legs and the drop between the saddle and bars. No worry about raising the BB with a longer fork, because the BB is REALLY LOW. Takes a liitle bit of adjustment because the chainstays are quite long for a bike of this travel, but that adds a lot of stability on the way down and good traction on the way up. It feels comfortable in any situation I ride, but I would like to experiment with the 160 air spring to get slightly slacker front end...though I know this will come at the expense of the responsiveness on mellower terrain.
They have insane pricing right now. You can get a hugene with full XO drivetrain (GX cassette) carbon descendant cranks, PIKE 140 and RockShox Deluxe rear shock , 180 mm One up dropper for $2615 which is just nuts
