Does raising the Handlebar Rise will Help me with my Shoulders?

Hi everyone, i have an Alpine Trail XR and I really love it. However, I'm having a little pain in my left shoulder (I have a little Hernia in my neck). With my previous bike i didn't have that discomfort (It was and Enduro 2017, size M). My Alpine is a Medium and obviously is a larger bike than the previous enduro (sometimes i think i should have gone with the Small Size instead of the medium). The first thig that i have done is changing the Stem to a shorter one, but the pain is still there (only when climbing), my next step is to change the handle bar to a one with a 35mm rise (Right now the rise of my handlebar is 20mm). Do you think it will really help me?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Are the handlebars the same width?

No expert on bikes but I know a little bit about anatomy. First question I have is, where your elbows are at. If they are too high, and your rotator cuff is tight, I can imagine that would hurt like the dickens. To my understanding, rotating the handlebars regulates your elbow position, least it seems that way to me. I'd try rotating the handlebars toward me a bit

Lee McCormack has a Youtube video on handlebar sweep, he feels he injured his shoulder due to not having enough sweep.
