Apologies for creating another "which bike" thread, but haven't been able to find an answer that addresses my somewhat unique situation.
First, and most importantly, I'm a volunteer ski patroller at Winter Park, which means I earn free lift tickets that are also good at Trestle. Realistically, I can go pretty often, if I wanted. But I live in Boulder, where there are a bunch of 'regular' trails.
I've been looking to get a mountain bike for a while, and now work at The Pro's Closet, so have access to a bunch of different bike options. Initially, I had been thinking a 29'er (I'm 6'2"), with somewhere around 160mm travel.
Now, I'm not so sure. I found a 2020 Bronson with 170mm up front, 150 rear, with 27.5 wheels. Would something like this be enough for Trestle for a beginner? Are 27.5 wheels for someone my size a real sacrifice, knowing I'd also be doing a lot of flatter trail riding, closer to home? At this point, I feel like I don't know what I don't know to make an informed decision.
