Looking to find a relatively inexpensive trail/enduro e-bike for the lady. 130-160mm travel range. I have been able to find some more budget builds for around 4-5k new and these same models used (few years old) for around 2-3k. I have zero experience with e-bikes and honestly don’t know much about them. How often do these batteries fail? Is a used e-bike generally safe to buy or is best to purchase new? I’d hate to buy something used and then have a battery fail. Another thing, are these batteries replaceable?

What bike is it? The battery is definitely replaceable, though quite costly. Most of the big brands of e-bikes will be able to give you a report of the battery health and how it’s doing. You can also load test the battery so see how it is health wise, though this requires a machine which is somewhat pricey.
