If I am building a bike from a frame and plan to increase travel from stock build. Is there any advantage in choosing a heavier fork for climbing to keep the front tire more planted since the bike is now slacker?

The fork would be 10mm more travel and axle to crown is a few mm longer than the stock fork.

@Kulharin the increased axle to crown height will alter the geometry, putting centre of gravity a little further back.

You should be able to compensate with more weight on the front wheel for that though, so heavier forks would help as well as a longer reach stem that would help move your bodyweight more over the front wheel.

No advantage, more weight is shifted onto the rear wheel when climbing.
