I'm curious what roof rack you have found to work best with Fat Bikes

I have the switchhitter from Rockmounts, you can get a 150mm axle sleeve and a wheel strap extension and it carries a fat bike like any other mountain bike and just as easily. great racks!

Rocky Mounts Brass Knuckles with the fat bike kit (wider front wheel brace and longer rear wheel strap) works well. That said, I mostly use a hitch mount rack now that I have a 4runner where it's not a 1-person job to haul a heavy bike onto the roof.

1UP roof rack. Works for all my bikes, including fat bike, all metal, lasts forever basically. Made in US.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I found a used Yakima High Road and discovered that it works fine with 80mm rims and if the tires are 4.8 I just need to let a few PSI out to fit it in. Seems really good so far and I've now found 3 of them on the used market.

AM I THREAD JACKING?

I went to REI and looked at the Yakima racks. $700 bucks for 2 crossbars for a Grand Cherokee, and the guy was really not 100% we even had the correct ones. That's ridiculous in my mind. Jeep dealer wanted 350 which is reasonable except they're on backorder. I got the P/N, and onto to Amazona as usual. Purchased some crossbars for $100.

Now to get a Moonlander and Mutz up there.

What do you all think about mounting 2 fork clamps on the front bar, then get a piece of PVC pipe, cut it in half for the rear tires to fit into followed by using a strap to hold down the wheels?

I would use wingnuts to attached everything and be able also get everything easily off so as to also be able to connect kayak racks to them.

Thanks
