Hey there. Maybe I’m stupid, maybe not, but I’m frustrated with my new sram transmission. All is good except the cranking on the bike stand. I’m getting some cassette ramp clicks. I’m have the micro adjust all the way to 14 and still getting a little clicking on 12, 11 and 10. All the others are pretty good. I have not ridden on the street or anything. Just on the stand. Should I give it hell or is there some secret extra micro adjustment? Any other ideas.
After setting up the transmission on two bikes here is what I would check. On one bike I only needed to do 4 micro adjustments and the other didn't need any.
- Do you have the correct spacers in place on your spindle to create the proper chainline? Check this chart from SRAM:
- Double check you followed the installation instructions to exactly according to SRAM. Everything from the derailluer Setup Key, chain length and setup cog has to be correct, then follow through on the proper torque and tightening order.
Curious if you you still have this issue / figured anything out? I am experiencing basically the same issue, except my micro adjust is at 1, and needs to come in a bit more. Currently working with SRAM on it, but haven't really figured anything out on it.

Hey Ty More if the same. I have been wondering if I chose the wrong rear hub for my wheelset. I’m on a 2022 Cannondale Scapel HT and I thought I read that this frame takes a standard offset. But now I wonder if shouldn’t have chose the Ai offset. What frame are you on?

There actually is some secret extra micro adjustment. SRAM has just released updated firmware that moves the derailleur inboard by 0.6mm. This has solved issues for many riders. I've also spoken to many riders that have had issues with Transmission and have written up the myriad of issues I've found. The main issue does seem to be that 1.7mm is not enough micro adjustment.
If you are installing new firmware I would recommend factory reseting all AXS components, re-installing the most recent firmware, re-pairing, and re-doing the Transmission setup from the beginning. This seems to be necessary to prevent more issues with firmware. The instructions to do this are below and I've linked my very long blog post on the list of other potential issues.
Do this for each component in the AXS system: 1. Hold down the the AXS button 2. Remove the battery while continuing to hold down the AXS button 3. Wait 3 seconds while continuing to hold down the AXS button 4. Reinstall the battery while continuing to hold down the AXS button 5. Release the AXS button 6. Confirm the indicator light in blinking yellow 7. Use the AXS app to install the latest firmware 8. Repeat this for every AXS component 9. Pair all AXS components 10. Redo the Transmission setup from the beginning
