So I am traveling with my bike and I go to reinstall my sram eagle xo derailleur and now the top cog is touching the cassette 3 from the top on a 52 tooth cassette. There was a new hanger installed before I left. When I use the b limit adjustment tool it is more then an inch out and no matter how much I adjust it still won't line up with the tool. What am I missing. Nothing seems bent at a quick glance. Can't seem to figure out what I did wrong.
Check your b stop and make sure it is seated all the way down against the derailleur hanger stop. This is easiest to view with the wheel out. Other possibility is the b stop did not get aligned over the hanger stop when you reinstalled it. Either way, its very likely a b tension, b stop issue.

Can’t remember exactly about the sram ones but shimanos got a little thing that can turn, and needs to be on the b tension screw side of the hanger and if it’s not it will screw it up like you’ve said. If there is something like that on the sram make sure it’s positioned correctly before screwing in the derailleur.

If you are having the same issue then did you try the remedies that were suggested? The likely culprit is not getting the B-washer in place before tightening the derailleur. Make sure it's in the right spot and between the hanger and B-screw or you'll run into problems. Also the hanger can be bent and need to be straightened. You won't necessarily be able to see the bend with the naked eye.
