HELP! Need to know aftermarket rear axle size for 21 Trance 29er

Went riding with a buddy this last weekend and his rear axle was loose so I retorqed it to 10 nm not knowing the actual spec but figured most bikes I have had range from 8-10 nm.

Anyways after the ride I noticed it seemed loose again. Loaded it onto the Rocky Mount bike rack which was attached to the hitch of my trailer and by the time we got home the rear axle had fallen out god only knows when or where.

Need to get a replacement but I cant find any documentation.

I believe its 12x1.0 threads but no idea on the length. I would like to suggest he get either a Wolftooth or OneUp but I dont know which specific sku will fit his bike.

Not much info or spare parts on the giant site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
