I had been riding an Orbea Occam LT 150/160 the last year or so and really loved the bike.
Austin rocky and technical trails, bike parks, etc. GREAT bike.

I was in my local shop recently, Velorangutan in Austin and Wes the owner was like "hey man, you need to take the Revel Rail 29er out for a ride, let me know what you think"

I resisted for a few weeks and then curiosity got the best of me. I had to know what this Canfield brothers rear suspension was all about on the trail.
I was familiar with it, but hadn't ridden it.

Truthfully, the bikes were more similar that dissimilar, the sizing, fit and handling were very, very close.
But, there was something to the rear suspension, it did feel a bit more supple and glued to the ground, or in my case, rocks, lots of them.
Climbing over technical stuff was better. Off a few jumps it felt like it had more headroom, only 5mm on paper but it felt different.

As I like to flip bikes I decided to make the move and ordered a complete bike but then decided to do some parts swapping around.

I kept my I9 carbon enduro wheels, bar, stem and brakes along with Fox dropper.

I am now running the SRAM drivetrain, previous bike had GX wireless.
I dig the drivetrain, it doesn't matter which way you shift, under hard load, shift, pedal and it will just shift smoothly, every time.

I also went with a 38 over the 36 I had been running and man, what a FORK! I freaking love it.
The X2 works great as well.

Great looking bike! I've been wondering about the 38 over the 36. I'm going to Outerbike this weekend, I think Revel will be there, hope to get a proper demo on a Rail 29.
