Overforking?

Hey,
i have a 2022 giant talon 3 in size S, it comes with a 80mm spring fork which i’m not very happy with and was wanting to upgrade the fork to a air one and get abut more travel aswell. If i was to get the size M in the same bike it comes with a 100mm fork so i was wondering would i be able to get a 100mm fork and put it on my bike?

I was looking at a rockshock recon silver RL
which is a 100mm fork but is able to extended to 120mm so would i be able to install the fork to the giant talon 3 without any problems?

I’m also aware you can get headsets to slacken or steepen the geometry of the bike and was wondering if one would fix anyone problems which over forking a bike would cause?

An 100mm fork will be fine. I would be leary about a 120 fork as the talon frame is not made as tough as the fathom or similar trail hardtails. It will slacken the headtube and Seat tube angles a little but I did the same on my old talon 29 back in the day
