Hi all,

I have search on Google and see many people suffering the same issues with a 10p part on their brakes failing.

Here shows the Pivot point
XT 800 Brake Lever - Pivot

and this shows the broken / cracked piston guide
XT 800 Brake Lever - Servio Wave Guide

It seems Shimano don't care about the environment impact of their products and would prefer instead to charge £60 for a new brake lever body and have us dispose of the old one.

It is not a difficult part to replace, just remove the lever pivot, followed by the lever blade and then twist the piston to have the 2 guides (top and bottom) accessible.

I have seen people try 3D printing them but advise that they are fragile and I don't trust it to last when I grab a fist fall of brake Wink

I haven't seen many recent posts, does anyone have any further information on this, or real world experience with a 3D printed version - what's the longevity been like ?

Worst case, who has a broken lever they would like to donate parts from ??
