I’m wondering if I should even bother to bed in the stock Shimano 200mm rotor or just go ahead and switch to the SRAM HS2, 220 mm rotors. You guys have any experiences with different brands or model of brake pads any clear winners are losers. Ride in the Appalachian mountains and I weigh about 185 or so. In full kit. Ride a size large.

I think the 200 has been fine in the front, but I bent the one in back over the weekend and I replaced it with an hs2 203, mainly for the extra meat. Thickness that is…

I ride a large and I’m 220. Denver front range.

Can’t remember which size the Shimano is and which size the SRAM is. I know that two thin spacers came off the mount to install the HS2.

I just got the bike, before I even rode it I ordered a 223 rotor and Galfer E bike pads. I did a first ride with the stock SLX stuff 203/180 and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I'm still going to put the new stuff on, but the stock 203 did fine but it was a mellow trail.
