Shimano direct mount cranksets and non Shimano chainrings

I am building a bike with a 55mm chain line. The SLX direct mount cranksets have the offset built into them: M7100 for 52 mm chain line, M7120 for 55 mm chainline. If I want to use a Wolftooth ring with 3 mm offset woutd I pick the 52mm chainline crank to get 55 mm?
