Last October the rear triangle broke on my wife's Scott Lumen after 4 rides. Scott said they would warranty it but it would be spring before the part was here. Now they are telling us that the part won't be available until mid summer.....unless we wanted one of a different color.

If the part does come mid summer that would make it around 9 months to have the bike back to working order. Is there any recourse here? The bike has four rides on it. I think they should replace the whole bike or disassemble a complete bike to make this right.

Does anyone have any contacts at Scott?

My uneducated opinion based on a similar scenario, fire up a totally different email about buying the part, you at least get the thing much sooner, then when the warranted replacement arrives it's brand new and could possibly be sold or kept as a spare.

For what it's worth I had a part replaced under warranty but these parts are shipped from a totally different location so took ages to arrive, meanwhile I just bought a new one which was here in under a week.

Then sold the replacement...

Hmmm, a swingarm is pretty expensive and paint specific. It might be hard to sell later.

This is why I often dont even consider Scott. Looks over performance, had issues with a E-Ransom with the rocker rubbing the frame was told new frames wernt available untill 6 months away - I got anther scott dealer to contact about crash replacement... oh they had plenty of stock to buy.........
we called them out on it and got my replacement frame.. only for the same thing to happen.

id be inclined to Ask for the other colour and for them to colour match it(get it painted)

Depending on where you live you can also return the bike due to being not fit for purpose for a full refund.

its also common here to see them Take a bike off the floor and swap everything over or just swap the bike.
bikes arnt selling anyway lol.

True, but the alternative is no bike for 9 months, may as well change sports, that would kill me having to not ride for that long Cry

No attitude intended here but it's plain text on the internet so: who cares about the colour?! Joker

Different color swingarm would affect resale for sure. She has an analog bike too. I will explore other options.

Boutique Bike Blues. Take what you can get then sell it. Scott customer service is suspect at best. They are not the only ones who are awesome at wowing you for your money and then giving lackluster respect after the sale.
