M9100 lever w/ M9120 caliper?

Has anyone ran the Shimano XTR M9100 lever with their 4 piston M9120 calipers? Any issues? Same braking performance as straight M9120? I see that Shimano used to sell this set-up, but no longer do. Which is surprising as SRAM Level brakes are exactly this, a XC style lever with a 4 piston caliper
