Installing M8000 left crank arm on M8120 or m8130 right?

I managed to get a cheap Stages Power Meter that is mounted on an m8000 XT left crank arm. I tried to install it on my m7100 (right) crankset, but the spindle is too short. The interface splines are the same, but the m8000 arm is thicker at the mounting point than the m7100 arm, which means the preload cap isn't long enough to thread into the spindle when trying to install the M8000 left. I assume the m8100 has the same spindle length as the m7100. I have a collection of different chainrings for the centerlock interface used on the mX100 series, which won't work on the mX000 series. Does anyone know if the M8120 or M8130 spindle would be long enough to accommodate the m8000 left arm? (provided I removed the spacers?)

From my research on mixing Shimano HTII cranksets, the 12 speed cranks are only compatible with other 12 speed arms because the width of the spindle is different. Prior to 12 speed, all generations of HTII could be mixed. I think the best solution for you would be tracking down a 11 speed Shimano crankset (FC-MX000).

I can find lots of the 2x cranks in the mX000 series. Are the 2x crank arms in that series the same as the single ring crank arms? (Just with the inner ring removed and a different outer ring?)
