Hey all, I just blew (another) x2 on my spire, and I’m looking for other possible shock options- Im still able to get the recall on it, but at this point I’m looking elsewhere. Any suggestions for a downhill/big enduro shock? Looking for maybe a coil or a high volume air shock. That new vivid looks cool.

I really like the Kitsuma coil I put on mine. The key is the sprindex which is slightly progressive. I felt like straight rate coils used travel too easily and the other brands of progressive cool ramped up spring rate too fast.

Spire leverage ratio is around +5 so it really likes a springdex or progressive spring. ALso take a peek at the Cane Creek Tigon. Gives you some of the best of both worlds.

Okay, good to know. The tigon is out of my price range, I’m looking at possibly the super deluxe or marzocchi coil. Does the sprindex work for those shocks? I would assume so but you never know with bikes these days.

Sprindex is 38 mm id, and it comes with adapters for 35.2 mm and 36.5mm, so it fits Rockshox with no spacers and it fits marzocchi with the 35.2 spacer.

I ride a 2021 super deluxe coil in my spire; got a standard 550 spring on it, and it works fine for me ; before that the standard X2 blew up as well

What does this mean in relation to the leverage curve published by Transition (which indicates 23% progression)?

I have a Rockshox SDU coil and a Cane Creek Kitsuma Air. The coil is a little more downhill oriented as expected.

If you can wait a little while, Cane Creek usually has a 40% off sale every Black Friday.

Not the cheapest option but EXT Storia V3 is on sale for $800 right now including spring.
