I'm considering purchasing this bike for my 6 year old as he is just under the recommended height and by next season he will fit just fine. My question is whether this will be brutal for him during normal trail rides. I live in CT so we have rocky/rooty/technical terrain with lots of ups and downs. I just don't want to get him something that will shred in the park but that he won't be able to go on local rides with me.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
