Patrol filling with water

Hi. I've just got a Patrol and have been riding in Madeira this week. Contrary to all the videos, we've got soaked and muddy pretty much everyday so have had to hose the bike down at the end of the day before taking it back inside. However when I tilt it forwards or backwards water seems to just pour out of the chair stay and BB areas.

At a guess, I'm assuming it's getting into tubes around the gear cable but I don't know if there are any other holes that water could be getting in. Anyone know the best way to drain it and potentially stop it happening in future? Or is this just a feature of the bike? Cheers

What do you mean that water is pouring from the BB area? Where is water come out specifically? Picture might help.

If you had a metal frame then it would almost certainly have small drain holes at the lower portions of the bike - like underneath the BB - for any trapped water to escape. Not all frames will necessarily have this feature so...you should always do your best to keep any water from getting in. Typical water entry points are, as you mentioned, the cable and hose penetrations to the frame. Internally routed bikes have more holes in the frame so there's more places for water to enter. Make sure your cable/hose penetrations are covered well and don't spray those areas much if you can help it.

It's the carbon frame rather than the aluminium one. Water quite clearly comes out of the port on the chair stay with the gear cable coming out to connect to the mech, but somewhere around the BB water seems to dribble out as well. The front and rear triangle sit pretty close to each other though so it's hard to see where exactly it's. coming from

There is an opening just behind main pivot for internal cables to exit front triangle and go into rear. There is also an opening in the BB shell so stuff that goes into the main triangle there will collect in BB. I had this problem with fine sand/dirt. I ended up putting a strip of gorilla tape inside the BB shell to keep stuff from getting in but water would probably still get in there (I don't hose my bike)
Transition does have a small stick on 'fender' to cover that area that helps a little.
