I just recently bought a brand new 2026 Fox DHX2 to put on my 2024 Specialized Demo. It was not listed anywhere as incompatible but when I tried to put t on, it wouldn’t fit due to hardware issues. The problem comes to the eye side of the shock which is not long enough to reach where the axle would pass. The shock hits on the linkage before it can be put into place. This shock is 2 months old and I don’t think I am the first in the world to try to put this shock on a demo, and I can not find anything online about it not fitting. Anybody knows anything or could help me?

I mean, how can we help now? Stretch the frame? I also wanted to buy it for my Commencal V5 but they told me it doesnt fit. Imo only a few bikes can fit those and most of the frames will need to be manufactured from scratch to fit them.

****Update mine was the float X2 which also does not fit.********
Unfortunately I didn't see this post when I searched for it the first time. I however asked Rider Care at Spec before I bought TWO of them because I have twins that race downhill and they said they would should fit no problem......Howver I ran into the same issue you had, where the eyelet flairs out a lil bit at the bottom it makes contact with the linkage keeping the axle bolt from being able to line up.
