Hey, y'all. My buddy and I are headed up next summer to ride Squamish and Whistler for a bit. I was curious if y'all had some local knowledge to share in terms of can't miss places to eat or grab a beer? Any advice on where to stay would be welcomed as well.
Cheers!

PS: don't hesitate to ask in return if you head down to the Pisgah area

I always stay at Mountain Fun Basecamp. Ride right from the camp sites, they have hotel rooms as well. It’s in Squamish. As far as riding goes, ride it all! Everything is amazing! Alice Lake area has some great trails, Rupert, Entrails, Hot Tuna and so many more, or hit up Diamond Head and ride Ditch Pig, the Nelson trails are there, Angry M, Unrelated Dead Guys, Somewhere over There. Honestly there is so much to ride in Squamish. As far as Whistler, obviously the park is great, but if you wanna ride outside the park, try Comfortably Numb, Micro Climate, any of the valley trails really. No matter what, you’ll have an unbelievably fantastic time! There really are no bad choices. If you’re looking for a guide for a day or two in Squamish I’d recommend Dialed in Cycling. There located right at Mountain Fun, and they do rentals as well. As far as food, you can try The Water Shed and Locavor in Squamish, my buddies and I usually hit The Longhorn in Whistler or Dusty’s in Creekside.

As for beer and food, I am partial to A-Frame brewing and the onsite burger food truck (Flipside Burgers).

The House of Lager down on the waterfront is also a gem and popular with the tourists.

Aside from grinding it up to the trailheads, most of Squamish city proper is dead flat so really easy to get around on bikes without needing to drive. Even getting to the Diamond head trails can be done by booking the shuttle, or even taking the City bus to the university to take a big bite out of the lower climb from the valley.

For a cheaper options to MTN Fun with ride in-ride out accessibility, there is the Alice Lake Provincial Park or Mamquam River campground.
