YT Decoy Shimano EP8 clicking noise

I have an annoying clicking coming from the EP8 when I pedal. Doesn’t matter if the motor is on or off, but only happens under load. Crank arms are tight, nothing appears to be loose as far as I can tell. I see threads noting the same noise but no solutions. Any advice on what I should check?

Could be the pedals, I would take them off and clean the threads and put a bit of grease on them and reinstall.

Thanks for the advice. Turned out once I got the cranks off I discovered the chainring had gotten loose. All appears good now
