I’m really new to mountain biking, I just got a diamond back mission 2, I am considering getting a different fork and mullet with a 29 front wheel. Is this going to cause me to sit to far back? Figured I would ask on here before dropping 400 bucks and new forks and messing up my bike.

You're really new and suddenly think mulleting an old, discontinued bike is a good idea? Unusual, but...ok.
What kind of riding do you actually do? Mullet bikes are good for specific riding and maybe a new rider isn't going to actually benefit from the setup.
Consider the kind of riding you do the most and see if a mullet will actually benefit the majority of your rides before you sink money into a fork you may not get use out of.
If your profile accurately depicts your riding history, then I'd skip the mullet idea and save your money for new, more modern bike after you gain more experience. Save for a bike that's actually designed to be switched to a mullet setup.
Yeah it’s pretty accurate for the most part right now I ride with my kids. We prefer downhill but they are still young so it’s not very crazy. I do come from bmx and motocross background when I was growing up so I’m comfortable in the air. Also to be honest the mullet setup seems cool but.
That’s totally fair probably the right option. I appreciate the advice.
