evnin, im a DH racer plannin a trip trough the winter to the southern hemisphere, basically im plannin to follow the sun and get as much ridin in as possible. ill be heading out there for about 4 - 5 months, are there any bike parks in newzealand or austrailia that are open from november throught to february. these times are approximate. are ther any to be avoided or any that really need to be checked out. aalso in new zealand which island would be better for a DH rider

also what months do people in NZ call the off season as far as local racing is concerned.

South Island is probably better. There isn't really an off season but all chairlifts are closed for mountain biking from like march-january.

what is this off season you speak of? you can ride anytime if you don't mind the rain or pushing your bike up come to nelson and ride "devil's tail".
