Used in high performance racing, but I havent seen MTB ones YET. Maybe Ill make some this weekend. I doubt theyd last long if at all with my brakes though

I've seen some. I'll see if I can find them. They have to be coated with ceramic for some reason.

I don't think they actually use solid carbon rotors though. Aren't they a carbon/ceramic mix? Carbon but itself is really brittle, too much so for a rotor, IMO.

No I've seen carbon rotors with a ceramic coating on the brake track. Apparently works pretty well.

Carbon Ti makes full titanium rotors with a carbon spider. The Titanium coating is not like what alligator uses. These will have there gold coating for ever,Carbon ti uses titanium grade 5 hard anodized.Super expensive with a price tag off £480.00 for each set(2 rotors)

thats what i call a useless post, try giving some usefull info before posting.

i have some experience with carbon rotors (actually carbon-ceramic) since i work for a race car team, imo i think they won't work for MTB as they need extreme amounts of heat to work properly, tats why you will only see them mostly in Moto GP, Formula 1, ALMS and stuff like that, the other issue is cost, Ferrari uses them on their 430 cars for Ferrari Challenge series and a pair of front rotors cost about 10k.
also you don't gain any power using carbon brakes, their advantage is better fade resistance and reduced unsprung weight
