like said above it makes your shock feel alot better they put new internals in the shock and make it specifcally ( sp ? ) for you.
oh i see well yea im used to ahrdtail so i think anything will feel better

i would get the vivid, less knob's to twiddle with and each adjusment on the dhx has an effect on the other ajustment's.

yeah in my opinion if your coming from a hardtail just stick with the dhx 5. If they were not a good shock why would pro downhillers use them ? sorry to use professionals as a example. But its true.

Then in a year or so if you want a diffrent feeling shock instead of forking out 300+ for a new just get it pushed for 100$.

TZ.

sam hill and tyler morland ride vivids if u want an example of a pro DHer Smile

well here's what i would do..and probably will but not for another year or 2

Frame- Demo 8 frame (dhx 5.0 because it's proven itself)

Fork- Marzocchi 888 wc

Handle Bars- Easton

Grips- Odi lock ons

Seatpost- Thompson / seat ???

Headset- Chris King

Brakes- Avid Codes with Goodrich line

Gears- Sram XO shifter and derailler (no less the X9 if you want to cut costs)

Cranks- Race Face diablus crankset

Chainguide- Gamut Guide or E-13 (whatever floats your boat...i kinda like the gumut better)

Pedals- Syncros mentals (magnesium)

Wheelset- Ckris King hubs laced to Syncros DPS32 rim (yes it's white...i know im a trend whore Wink )

Rubber- Maxxis Highroller rear 2.35 and Minion Front 2.35 or 2.5
