hey everybody
is there anyway to put a chain guide on a crank set that has two rings?

yes. Google "e.13 DRS" or "Blackspire dewlie" or "dualrailleur"

They all work well. You can go cheaper and get a Blackspire stinger too, it works ok.

yes. A number of companies make them. I personally like e.13's products. Here is a link to their 2 ring guide.

LOL, I glanced and thought it actually said derailleur and you were just mentioning it as a temp solution!! I can honestly say I have never heard of the dualrailleur.

Its actually pretty sweet. Has rubbing issues though, but if you cant deal with the sound of a chain on plastic you shouldnt be mtn biking, at least with gears anyway.

That is the accepted standard of dual ring guides. Pretty much what all others are judged by. So yes, it lets you shift normally, you dont notice its there other than a tiny bit of noise.
